Today marks an end to the Dug E. Fresh Rants blog. This is the final post of a blog I should have just kept on my Get Fresh Designs Blog.

I have already put all the Rants posts onto that blog. I always do dumb stuff like this, instead of just focusing on one thing. I think I have a great idea and start before the other is finished. Always have been that way with everything though. Odd.

Why?

Why does the NFL think that Europeans want the NFL. They like soccer, that faggy little game where they may not even score a goal, but is somehow exciting (to them). So as you will read in that blog post is that NFL is just going to screw out the loyal fans who support that team 12 months a year, not just for one game. I kind of hope it does go to London and fucking flops big time. I honestly hope the Steelers do not make it to the Super Bowl that year (if it happens), because I plan on not watching.

Stop going to Europe NFL, stay here and strengthen your game. Europe doesn't want us, remember the NFL Europe experiment?

Sam Adams Summer Styles Review

This past year, I have been trying a variety of beers. Kind of started out at New Years with the Sam Adams Winter Styles. Not bad, I gave them a shot. This past week I got Sam Adams Summer Styles. Once again, not too bad. I found one I really liked.

1. Top pick from me, Blackberry Witbier. I kind of wish the blackberry was a little stronger, but overall I loved this one. Went down easy. Very good.

2. Summer Ale. Can't say I tasted much of the Lemon Zest, but I could drink quite few of these and not get sick of it.

3. Sam Adams Light. Really good beer, not all hoppy like the Regular Sam Adams but doesn't taste too much like a light beer.

4. Pale Ale. Meh. It's ok, not a favorite.

5. Sam Adams Boston Lager. Meh again. If it's offered, I'll drink it. I'm sure it's great with a certain meal or something.

6. Hefeweizen. Super Meh. Least favorite of the bunch. Once again I'm sure it goes great with a certain type of meal, but not as a beer by itself.

Totally forgot to bitch about this yesterday. When I tune into this show, I want to watch the crews featured on the show. What they're doing this "week". Not the rescue you showed on this past weeks show.

Now, I think it's great you are able to catch those rescues, but if it doesn't have to do with the crews you feature. I don't need that to consume the show, do a special or do 15 minutes in the show, I'm fine with that. I did not mind watching it, but I wanted to see more of them catching crab and whatnot.

I stopped to get a pizza at one of the four italian pizza shops in Manheim, because I wanted to try their pizza. It's one of the places we neglected, no reason just did.

Well, the bill was $11.12, I paid with cash my mistake. I gave her $12, she proceeded to ask if I had 12 cents, I said no sorry and gave her a funny look. Then she mumbled something about 12 cents, but never put the money in the cash register, and I don't believe ever really looked at the money.

Whatever, we can't go back there now, plus they weren't really all that special with their food. It was weird.

Basically CafePress is going to be taking money away from shopkeepers who make the designs and bring in the sales to CafePress, by giving them only 10% of profits on their sales there. This will vary from product to product, but basically for me it will break down like this.

I mark my items up $5, so with every sale I get $5 (even though the product may cost you $23). As of June 1st, it will under $2 per sale.

Now I do not make a lot of sales, I believe I got like $600 last year, not a lot because I believe I'm not doing a very good job of pushing visitors to my site. But that was in the works.

Some people make a lot of money on CafePress, which makes a lot of money FOR CafePress. They just pissed those people off and a lot will be jumping ship or pulling their items from the marketplace. I believe this is really going to hurt CafePress and they're fools for doing this. I know they do the printing, hosting of the sites, upkeep, but they're getting $18 per shirt (from my example), just think how much they're getting from the person who makes $50,000 a year. Now that person pulls their items, that money is gone. I can't support CafePress with my items that's for sure.

So since they're doing this I have to refocus what I will be doing this year. I will be dropping the featured items for a while to focus more on pushing towards my shop. Probably will not be doing too many new designs or redesigns as I will also focus on looking for another site like CafePress. I have a Zazzle shop so I will put a little more effort in beefing that up.

It's not my fault...

...that you chose to run on a road that does not have shoulders and barely enough space for two cars. I wanted to go around you, but seeing as people with no interest in Lancaster County decide to put up tons of housing without updating the roads is not my fault.

So, that means you get the fuck off the road as you are running towards me and deal with it. Another car was coming, and I would rather hit you, then go into the next lane and crash head on with a vehicle. There will be less damage when you bounce off my truck.

If you don't like this, then buy a treadmill. Oh, you want to run outside, well put the treadmill outside and run, or maybe find another area to live that has shoulders on their roads so you can be a tad safer.

Still don't want to do that? Go complain to your Borough Officials, County Commissioners, and State Reps. Because they are at fault for letting more housing be built while the roads that were meant for a small farming community remain untouched.

Or just go fuck yourself.

Either way, I don't care.

Real close call

I had a recent trip to what I call, The Mountains.

I like to take pictures this is not something new, but this past trip as I got home to download the pictures. There was only one picture on the camera the other 150+ pictures. Gone.

I freaked the fuck out. All my pictures gone, I can't go get those pictures back. Well I could, but my wife wouldn't allow that.

As I was talking to my one friend about the incident, it came to me those pictures have a chance to be recovered!! Someone I work with worked at a camera shop for years and new way more about cameras and whatnot than I ever will, and she gave me a disc that could recover those files. It worked, I got the majority of the pictures, I only lost a few. I was relieved. That was a close one.

The Deadliest Catch is back with Season 5.

I love this show, why? Because they can't script what happens when they're out at sea in any way. Shit happens, shit doesn't happen. They crews they follow are characters that seem like some great writer wrote for, but this just didn't happen. They would be like that with or without the cameras. Plus all the bickering and what not makes me laugh.

What got me last night is, do you think the anti-smoking people hate this show? Because I swear those guys always have cigarettes in the hands. AND I THINK IT'S GREAT! I mean why wouldn't you? It's a stimulant, plus they don't call it the Deadliest Catch for nothing, you can be swept over into the ocean in an instant. So light up!!

I have real issues with people who don't stop at stop signs, but I am not here to complain about that today.

When you are traveling and say there is a slow vehicle, lets say an Amish Buggy, you have to wait to go around that buggy if there is another vehicle coming on the other way. You can't go around the buggy as the vehicle on the opposing side of the road is right there. It's extremely dangerous and if you hit that vehicle you are up shit creek without a paddle. And you won't even have a boat if on the creek if you happen to hit me. I'll have no problem getting the asshole-money grubbing lawyer to take you for everything because you failed to obey traffic laws.

I writing this on Saturday and having it post on Monday, because that's how excited I am.

Why?

Because I'm going to the Mountains on Thursday. This is a semi-annual trip I take with my friends to just eat, drink, and have fun not worrying about a thing. Get as drunk as you want, you don't have to drive. Plus, we play some fun games, HR derby, horseshoes, wii bowling, and this year we'll do target shooting. I call this the Mountains Tournament, which I give out medals and the winner gets a toy WWE belt to keep until the next tournament. I know, childish, but it's fun and you're jealous.

Things I really Hate

This is a little different than Things that piss me off, because this I hate.

Getting my hair cut.

I have never liked doing this, never. I believe I use to cry as a child. I am just annoyed by having to do this. I normally get my hair cut short, then let it grow in over the course of 2 - 3 months until the back gets too long and if I go any longer it will be a mullet.

I hate paying $20 to get my hair cut too, and I hate tipping, because I feel like I'm short changing them somehow.

I hate that they never cut my hair right, even when I tell them specifically what to do. It's not hard, trim the top to be comb-able and the back fade it up from bare skin to the hair, don't box it out. I don't care if that's the in style, it looks fucking dumb. I swear when I say fade it in the person has no idea what fading means and they don't do it right. How do you not know what that means??

I use to go to a barber shops, one walking distance of where I live. Stopped going there because the older gentleman refused to cut my hair how I told him to. The other one was on my way home (kind of), I liked this place, 4 chairs, was quick, except their solution or lack of cleaning gave me zits on the back of my neck a couple days later. /done. Couldn't deal with that anymore.

So now will begin a journey of finding another place, since the last place I went the girl kind of chopped up my hair a little too short and didn't fade the back very well. The only good thing there is no short supply of hair stylist where I live, there is like 5 or 6 in the square of my town. That's insane, it's a small town.

I miss the one place that cut my hair just right. That was in Millersville, PA too far away for me to drive to get a haircut, plus he was getting old. You came in the door, and a Hey Buddy was coming your way. He remembered you, had good conversation, and was fast.

I should just get a Flowbee and be done with it.

Oh, and when I was sitting there looking at the clumps of my hair, I think I saw a gray hair. Which doesn't bother me, but my wife says she will dye it once I start going gray. She'll have to hold me down.

Cadbury Cream Eggs

Couldn't find the commercial with the Cadbury Bunny Tryouts, so I posted this one. But you know the one I'm talking about. They're still running it after all these years, the only thing they updated was the end part where Hershey's put all their other products in there.

Time to update the entire commercial, put it in HD, the quality of the commercial is starting to look bad and this way Hershey's can put up banners for everything else they own up in the background. Just do it. You're profitable.

Oh and is it me, or are those cream eggs much smaller than they use to be, didn't they use to be the size of an actual (chicken) egg?

Falling off the wagon

That's right, I've been neglecting my blogs by not posting much. But all I have right now are scattered thoughts which is the basis for my rants blog, but I can never form them when I want to write a post. So here's a quick list of what's consuming my mind.

1. The new federal cigarette tax, I've talked about cigarette tax here before and it's just not good by any means. This is just one step closer to your favorite thing getting taxed more. Let the smokers smoke, stop taxing the hell out of them.

Below are images of hail that I encountered on Sunday afternoon while driving home from a birthday party. It seems as if my truck is fine, not suffering any dents or cracked windshield. Considering we got pelted by this hail, I'm very happy.

I have never experienced hail like that before. Fucking crazy to say the least. Just sounds horrible as the hail is pounding your vehicle. There was tons of hail in our yard. Crazy storm. I would have much rather my truck been in my garage the time that storm came through.

I paused today

I paused for a second today and it kept me out of an accident.

While coming to stop at a stop sign, there was a car down the road. I initially was going to go, but I paused to see how fast the car was going, just then someone turned down the road I was stopped on. Nearly clipped my front drivers side of my truck. Good thing I decided to start stopping where the stop sign is, or my truck would have been hit. And you wouldn't be reading this calm rant.

I hate when people do their initial stop past a white line or the stop sign. You're suppose to stop at the white line or the stop, then proceed.

And this is why I hate driving in a city, I just drive on back roads where normally I am the only vehicle on the road. Just the way I like it.

NBC reminded me today the tonight is the Last Episode or ER...

...before the finale.

What's that? It is the xbox 360 wireless adapter.

A $90 addition to your xbox 360. This is what kept me from buying a 360. I mean the Wii has one built in. So do many new cell phones, hell the iPod Touch has wifi built in. So why not the 360??? Can anyone tell me? I'd like to know.

What reminded me of this, was my nephew's Nintendo DS. I was messing around with it and saw that it had a built in wifi! And it's tiny too. I mean the 360 is kind of big, and I guess they use all that space to cool it down right?

Fucking Microsoft, can't just have one, it has to be 5 different packages. Bastards.

Trash Day

I hate trash day, which happens to be Friday morning and Saturday when there is a holiday during the week. I swear these assholes try to make as much noise as possible. One noise, is the awesome squeaky brakes. Then the asshole dumping the trash in the back who throws down the trash can and lid, then yells GO! after each stop.

THEN! we have the recyclable pickup. That is even worse when that fucker comes through. Throwing that container down on the ground makes a really loud noise, plus the dumping of all the cans and bottles makes a great sound.

This all happened this morning at 5:30 AM, I wasn't planning on getting up at that time, I wanted to sleep a little longer. But that just didn't happen.

Part of my goals of 2009 is to get my computer files/folders organized. Got my iPod so all my music is (almost) in one place, still have a few files on the iMac.

I have files spread out through four computers. My HP I bought 98 or 99, my iMac I bought in 2001, the Dell desktop from 2006, and the HP laptop. I just copy and pasted files and stuff is just all over and multiple times too. I have lots of duplicates, so I have to get this stuff in one place.

That's why I got the external hard-drive. Pictures and Music are there already, but the pictures were in all sorts of folders, so I'm being anal and putting them by year. Just a painstaking task for sure. Worst part is, I'm not sure were to put certain items. That's why I paused for a second and wrote this post.

I like to put things off.

Rough Week

I haven't had (made) time for rants this week. It's been kind of rough, work and just home.

Rants, I've been neglecting you. I'm sorry.

Also, when I go to write something my mind is going blank on something that I was pissed about and wanted to vent.

So let's talk beer. This year, I've been wanting to go and try out different beers, instead of Miller Lite every week. So I started out with Heineken.

Not bad, the alcohol content got me pretty good, but WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! If offered to me, I'm taking it, but probably won't buy again, unless I hit the lottery.

Yuengling Lager!

Former staple beer for me. Every once in a while, this a good beer to have, especially when extremely cold. This will pop throughout the year for sure.

Molson Canadian

I use to drink this a lot, but I always got a headache the next day, so I wasn't sure about this. But I went with it. Damn good and no headache.

Ok, so I'm not the greatest at describing beer other that FUCK YES THAT RULES! But it's my life, you'll deal.

Tagless Shirts

See the above sign kids? This is a stop sign, this means when driving, or you know even riding your bicycle, you have to come to a complete stop before you start to go again. I know, those couple extra seconds of having your car come to a complete stop is going to make you late for that unimportant place you are going. Or maybe that cell phone is in your way of noticing that there is a stop sign on the road you travel everyday.

When you see the stop sign, you have to stop and wait until it is clear for you to proceed safely. We all took the test to get our drivers license, it's a universal sign, so YOU learned about it. This means when a vehicle is about to go past you, you don't try to go, you STOP. Sorry if you might have to sit there longer, it's better than being plowed into, or is it? Maybe you'll die and that's just one less moron on road.

The same goes for you assholes riding your bikes in your Lance Armstrong gear. The rules of the road apply to you as well. That stop sign is for your safety, seeing as you are not in a motor vehicle and are quite exposed. If you want me to get over as I pass you, you stop at the sign, if not I'll whiz by you extremely close and yell at you.

Thinkin' Spring

All this cold weather is making me think spring, since it's not that far off either. Which I can't wait, because I'm ready to start my garden. Each year brings some thing different, but just more of the same. Last year, I had way too many tomato plants and not enough pepper plants, the cucumbers kind of took over because I let 4 plants grow instead of one. Had some onions and garlic last year too, probably won't do them again this year. They were fine, but just items I don't use much. I'm still unsure what I'll plant different this year, I'll decide when I go buy the plants.

I know for sure, 2 tomato plants, 1 cucumber plant, green bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, some other kind of sweet pepper, and I'm not sure about the rest.

In years past I have grown watermelon, corn, potatoes, many attempts at sugar pees, green beans, and pumpkins. Most of these items take up too much space, which if you can't tell from the above picture, space is limited. I wish I had a bigger space to grow those veggies, but I just don't. Most of those are easy to grow, you just plant them and watch them grow. Not much maintenance at all.

This recent cold blast has given me spring fever.

Less than 3 weeks

That's how much time is left until I can bitch about the cold. It's been really windy and cold this winter, more so than years past. But it is still officially winter, and I can't complain or can I???

No, I can't but I don't have to like it. Worst part was this morning, when I opened the door to let the dog out and got blasted with cold air that I wasn't ready for. Leaving my warm bed for a cold shot, just not good on a Monday morning.

The snuggie, for some reason I was cold last night and put a blanket on me while I sat and watched TV. I got warm but everytime I went to get my beer, my arms got cold. Plus I couldn't keep the blanket on my shoulders too well. A snuggie would have fixed all that.

Game console linked to skin disorder

We all know that obsessively playing video games can potentially lead to a variety of problems, but can it also be bad for your skin?

Skin specialists in the U.K. think so. The BBC reports that a new condition stemming from excessive gaming has been noted in the British Journal of Dermatology.

Swiss doctors first identified the condition -- dubbed Playstation palmar hidradenitis -- after examining a 12 year-old girl afflicted with painful bumps on the palms of her hands. Thinking it was related to sweating, the docs eventually reached the new diagnosis after being told that she was playing a whole lot of Playstation, which further explains why the condition occurred only on her hands and not her feet. Even more incriminating is the fact that after 10 days away from gaming, her condition disappeared.

Having a disorder named after their primary gaming brand is certainly a bummer for Sony, but the company might find comfort in longtime rival Nintendo, who have had to contend with various reports of gamers developing tendonitis -- renamed "Wiiitis" -- from overuse of their flagship Wii console.

Shortcut To Injury?

Similar in a sense to tennis elbow, Wiiitis first made waves back in 2007 when a Boston physician found himself suffering from a severely sore shoulder the morning after a rigorous match of Wii Sports. Apparently, he wasn't the only one. In December of 2008, British doctors actually issued a warning after noting a serious rise on the number of hospital patients complaining of the condition.

But while Wiiitis is bound to strike more gamers, "Playstation Palm" is just as fascinating to physicians.

"This is an interesting discovery and one that the researchers are keen to share with other dermatologists, should they be confronted with similar, unexplained symptoms in a patient," said Nina Goad of the British Association of Dermatologists.

To their credit, Sony showed restraint in their response.

"As with any leisure pursuit there are possible consequences of not following common sense, health advice and guidelines, as can be found within our instruction manuals, " said a spokesperson for Sony Computer Entertainment of Europe. "We do not wish to belittle this research and will study the findings with interest. This is the first time we have ever heard of a complaint of this nature."

But really, where's the parents of that 12 year old girl? Letting her play for hours on end? What, is she that smart that she already graduated from school?? Damn, smart girl.

And for the D-bag who was sore after Wii, so was I but I didn't whine like a little pussy about it. I got back on that horse and kept going. Plus you're probably out of shape and overweight. Wii gaming is something you need to build up overtime if that's the case.

But in the end, someone wasted money on researching this. Next time just give me that check. I got bills to pay.

Spread too thin

All these damn social networks are spreading me too thin.

Now that facebook is taking over (which sucks by the way and I don't care what you say) and everyone seems to be jumping ship from MySpace. That just bugs me, considering they're the same thing. Everyone adds you as a friend, then sends you bulletins (notes on facebook), then tries to get you to add some dumb app (which you do, even though you don't want to), and they may send you a message once then never talk to you again.

Because there was a reason you stopped talking to them. They didn't fit your life anymore, even with the internet you still don't fit. Your lives just went down different paths, and you were probably better off just seeing that at random reunion in 15 years.

But hey, whatever, my pictures will be on Picasa, my videos on YouTube, my blogs on well here, I'm not reuploading all my pictures and what not to facebook or the next big thing in 2 years. Well, if you read my post from last Friday you'll see that I went ice skating. Well here are some pictures of that event. Look at the fear in my eyes. I struggled early, then got the hang of it. But you can't tell by these pictures because the person taking the pictures didn't take any of me doing well. Just me struggling.

Of course, I wiped out as I was about to leave. Leaving myself slightly injured, wrist pain, some back pain, a bruise on the knee and elbow.

But it was fun, I thought for sure it wouldn't be. Oh, and I haven't had the time to "write" anything else, been a tad busy and I have other things I need/want to do that I haven't yet.

It's been too long.

I have tracked my weight issues here a little. Well to recap, I use to top out at 240ish. I never weighed myself much then so I don't really know. A few years ago the wife and I dropped off our weight. At my lowest I got down to 182 and maintained 185 for quite some time. Then last April hit, stopped caring somewhat and was intaking too many calories and got all the way back up to 200 lbs these past few months. Never stopped working out, just fell into a funk of sorts. Just couldn't seem to shake off the extra weight. Worst part is, all the weight is right in my midsection and all my pants didn't fit right anymore. Frickin' sucks.

But a few weeks ago we purchased My Fitness Coach for Wii.

Ass kicked.

I'm all sore from doing all the different workouts. It's a good thing, but never thought I would have to go through being sore like that again. I also changed up my diet, like not eating the same thing everyday. that was also hurting me.

With that I am finally seeing my weight dip down again. Hitting around the mid-190s again. The goal is to be back down to 185 by early summer. I think that's attainable.

New Phone

Well, I have finally joined the texting world in full force with my new phone, the AT&T Quickfire. I like it, it's a touchscreen with a keyboard. Which is really nice when texting, way better than selecting each letter by the numbers. Also we upgraded to unlimited texts, no more overages.

Dan Auerbach just released his first solo effort, I picked up the CD over the weekend. I rarely purchase music anymore (no, I don't download for free either), I just miss my favorite used CD store. That place shutdown years ago.

Anyway, I like the CD and I though I would share. Keep it Hid is on current iPod rotation, listen and repeat. You can check out his myspace page to listen for free with annoying ads that pop up after 3 or 4 songs.

I really don't think anyone is surprised, and if you are. You just crawled out from under your rock and welcome to 2009.

I mean we (the fans) want these sports stars to play on a high level for years, and when they have an off year we boo them and call them washed up. Or, we ask them to keep playing when their best (sometimes worst) days are well behind them. So they take "steroids" to keep playing or gain an edge. I'm not saying it's right, but look at the millions that is thrown at them.

Now, you have to look at it this way. These players have talent, they wouldn't be there if they didn't. Steroids and HGH didn't get them there. If I started taking that stuff today, I'm doubting I will make a major league baseball team this year, or next year or even the year after. I don't have that talent.

Besides, it wasn't banned by MLB at that time.

Article: NFL hopeful of Pro Bowl's return to Hawaii [Yahoo Sports]

So we all should know by now that the Pro Bowl is being moved to the week before the Super Bowl next year. Instead of the week after, when everyone forgets about it. Also they're taking the game away from Hawaii and playing it at the location of the Super Bowl.

Overall, I think this is a great move for the NFL. This will bring more attention to the game that is forgotten in the wake of the Super Bowl, you know the end of the NFL season, but not really we have this Pro Bowl to play. I'm sure the players in the Super Bowl who were elected to the Pro Bowl will get over the fact they won't play in the game, since they'll be playing in the Super Bowl.

But here is the kicker some players have said they would not play in the Pro Bowl next year since it will not be in Hawaii.

Example:

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis earlier this week went as far as saying he would “probably not” play next year’s game in Miami if he’s selected because it wouldn’t be a true vacation.

Even Troy Polamalu isn't safe:

“It’s really awesome to have everything culminate here in Hawaii,” he said. “I know the NFL is looking to have that big bang at the end, but as a player, this is a big bang. Everybody wants to be the Super Bowl winner and come and be with their peers in Hawaii.”

Look fuckers, you make a lot of money, you can go to Hawaii during the offseason, whenever you want. Not like you're making $40,000 a year and a trip to Hawaii will break your bank. No you're making a shitload of money (at least to me you are, maybe not NBA players, but fuck them too). I don't know how accurate this is, but if I even made the base salary of an NFL player I could swing a trip to Hawaii whenever the hell I wanted.

Howie Long Rant

First off, let's get this out of the way that truck Howie is promoting getting that great gas mileage is a 2WD. Not 4WD.

2WD are for pussies. There's no point in getting a 2WD drive truck, unless you live in a southern state and never deviate from the road at all. Other than that, you might as well buy a minivan. Oh and is that a manual transmission or an automatic Howie? I'm guessing an automatic because I'm sure your pussy ass doesn't know how to drive a manual/stick shift.

Now, there I have seen plenty of blogs complaining about the gas guzzling trucks. Here are two examples.

I own 4 door Nissan Frontier, V6 (I know, it's not a V8! OH NO!!) 4WD. I get around 17.5 mpg driving back and forth to work, fill up my tank once every two weeks. My previous vehicle was a 1999 Toyota Tacoma, two seater, 4 cylinder vehicle, got around 20 mpg doing the same thing. but was also a used vehicle (the nissan is/was new). Funny, they get similar gas mileage considering I now have a bigger engine, heavier truck.

And consider this, my wife drives a Saturn Ion, gets 28 mpg. WOW!! that's great fuel economy right there. Let me tell you. So I have a bigger vehicle, bigger engine and get 10 mpg less.

Don't get me wrong, that is a big difference, but not great. If you watch all those commercials saying that their car gets this great gas mileage. It's not, 31 mpg is not great for this day and age. Anything in the 30-40 range for any car out their is just bad. We should be in the mid 40s for sedans and 50+ for small cars considering all the technology in cars these days.

Why?

When I met my wife she was driving a 1965 4 door Chevelle. If you have ever seen cars from from the 50s/60s then you know they were battle tanks, big and heavy with engines to match. When that car was running in top shape it was getting 20mpg. So the car from the 60s was getting 20mpg, and the car from 2003 is getting 28mpg. Seems odd to me, but what do I know.

Bottom line, it comes down to money and taxes (I have a friend who is all into politics and what not, he tells me half of this stuff). If we have more fuel efficient vehicles, then we buy less gas. The gas is taxed, so buying less gas means less money for the government and god forbid they don't have money to waste on elaborate parties for themselves.

I have so many things I want to do, but the lack of Photoshop at home really doesn't help. GIMP just doesn't cut it for me. I can get by with it, but it is just a different layout, the tools work different, no layer styles, I'm just not use to it. But it is free, so I have to deal with it right now.

It's hard to open up a photoshop document then realize all your styling is gone and you have no idea how to make them right again. Someone buy me photoshop, thanks.

I have wanted an iPod since they came out, but never had the money to buy one. A few years ago when the shuffle jumped to 1 GB I purchased one. It served it's purpose, but transferring songs back and forth was a pain in my ass. Not something I enjoy doing.

So this year I decided to use my Christmas money to purchase an iPod. I just had to choose which one, since there are a variety out there and I must say the iPod touch was luring me in. But in the end it did not have the space I needed (well with in my price range $300). I could have only afforded the 16GB, but that is not enough space. I needed at least 30 GB, of course the only iPod with that amount of space in my price range was the iPod classic coming in at 120GBs, GREAT! nothing in between, 16GB or 120GB. Whatever, my catalog will grow.

Now, I bought an FM Transmitter for my shuffle. It worked, not the greatest, but it worked. I did not have the premium sound system in my truck which I got a year ago, just the base radio so no ports for an iPod. Back on track, I had hopes that the FM transmitter would work for my new iPod classic.

No dice.

It didn't work, and it randomly works. Needless to say, I was pissed off. I bought this iPod to take with me to listen to anything in my entire catalog whenever. BUT NO! So what do I have to do, either buy another FM Transmitter (which the quality just won't be there) or buy a new stereo (something I didn't want to do).

Well I am going to buy another stereo, it's going to cost me another $$200, but then wasting $60 on a better FM transmitter, but just a pain in my ass. So help me out a little: Get Fresh Designs

Right now I am sitting at home waiting for the Gas man to finish cleaning the heating unit, then I will be waiting on the Cable guy to install my HD box so I can watch the playoffs this weekend in High Def. Only took a year to get it, although I saw the Steelers Playoff game last year in HD because the NBC HD was coming through unfiltered.

Last night I browsed to MSN and found an article on the Dangers of third hand smoke. Third hand smoke??? That lingering smoke smell a smoker has on their clothes/body when they finish smoking. (I couldn't find the MSN article, but this one will do.)

I use to smoke. I do not anymore, after quitting I felt a lot better. Do I regret getting hooked? Nope, it was part of my life. Plus it went great with drinking and I almost always went outside and got to enjoy the day, instead of staying inside all of the time.

But here is the reality. Cigarettes are taxed, heavily in some states now. Want happens when less people smoke or everyone stops? Taxes go up on lots of other things, first up alcohol (fuck, I like to drink) then other things. Smokers help keep revenue to the states, that's why they get pissed off when people go out of state to buy stuff for use in their state.

One final thought even if you're going to listen to every douche in a lab coat.

Well, 2008 is gone. I am happy, but also sad.

You see, 2008 turned out to be a bit of a bad year for one aspect of my life. I stopped watching my intake of food/beer and regained the 15 pounds I never wanted to see again. Back up to 200 lbs folks. That's not where I want to be, I didn't stop working out, I just shoved more food and beer into my mouth. A case of beer a week is not what I want to do, unless I'm on vacation then two cases of beer for the week. I hide the weight kind of well, but I can feel it and it sucks. Just a flat tire around my belly. It needs to go, because I got rid of all my fat clothes. Today starts the day I really start watching my intake which will hopefully get me back down just in time for the summer, pool and beach time.

Plus if I cut back to a case of beer every two weeks, I can buy more stuff. I like buying stuff.

I never sleep right going to bed late. Went to bed at 2 am, woke up around 5am, was hot, not comfortable, but didn't get out of bed until 10:30. Which sucks, because we have to rush around to get to New Years Lunch, pick up the kid too. Staying up that late was never for me, I'm not just getting older. The guy has to wrap it up, sorry man, you may be feeling better, but it's just sad and reminds me of the Simpsons episode where everything went wrong and it was revealed that Dick was a robot. Seems to be rambling thoughts here. Last night I drank some Sam Adams beer, it was the holiday collection or whatever that is. Six different brews, I liked the Cranberry Lambic (was great after dinner, but not so much a little later) and the Cream Stout. The others not so much. Boston Lager, was ok, not great for me. Holiday Porter I just didn't care for. Old Fezziwig Ale I didn't like either. Winter Ale was ok, I could deal with that. I was happy I tried them, but the way I drink, I don't really care for all those flavors. Just not my thing, sorry.

Damnit. Reality is setting in, I have been off of work since Christmas eve, and I have to go back to work tomorrow, granted it's just for one day then the weekend, but the holiday fun time is over. This vacation was nice while it lasted, but back to work.

Ah, Christmas

What a long ass day, because it all starts on Christmas Eve at my parents house. The whole family gets together for food and booze. That goes until whenever, it was 10:30 for us. Drive home, put the presents out, drink some much needed water then off to bed. Then wake up in the morning, open presents here, each breakfast, shower, put on some new Christmas clothes, then off to my parents. Open more presents, each lunch, put the kid down for his nap, then sit there and wait. After the kid wakes up, go over to my grandmothers house, which is right across the ally from my parents house, open some presents, then off to my wife's parents house. Open a few presents, eat dinner, then sit there and chit-chat for a while. Then go home, unload the car with all the presents, crack a beer open, get all the presents out of their boxes, put the kid away, drink some more beer, crash on the couch watching something on TV I have seen a million times, go to bed.

That's christmas for me, it is fun, but it is quite the drain on the system that's for sure.

I didn't get video of it this year, but I think I did a previous year. My parents dog, shown below, likes to help you open presents by ripping the wrapping paper. It is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. If I find the video I will get it up here.

The Giant Center Blows

I can't remember how long ago it was, but it was within the past 5-6 years. The Giant Center was built.

This made me very happy. This was an up to date indoor arena for some possible concerts to come there. Hershey isn't really that far for me to travel, not like traveling to Philly. Not that Philly is really far, but in my older age getting home at 11pm is much better than 1 am. Especially when you have to work the next day.

Well, I have seen one concert there. Why? Because shit doesn't come there. I mean go look at the events right now, there are hockey games. At that's about it. A few events other than hockey, nothing significant and it has been this way since it has opened. Nothing comes there. I use to find it annoying, but since concerts cost so damn much anymore, I don't find it worth it to go anyhow.

The only reason I bring this is up is because I caught the tail end of a promotion on a local radio station giving something away at the Giant Center. So I checked out who it could have been. Motley Crue. Yeah, aren't they like 20 years past their expiration date?

Wow, I haven't posted crap this month...

...well I have posted crap this month, just not a lot of it.

I just have not gotten to posting too much, no real reason.

Now, I don't talk about the Steelers much, because I suck at analyzing games. But I have to say the loss to the Titans yesterday didn't really affect me. Why? Because the 1st round bye was already locked up, and way too many memories of the Steelers failing at home in the AFC championship game when they were the No. 1 seed. So let the Titans have that good for them, they won a game against a team that committed too many turnovers, just like you're suppose to.

But wiping your feet with the terrible towel. Why? Why would you do that? Especially to the No. 2 seed?? A team you could possibly face again with the Super Bowl on the line. I would totally understand doing that when you would knock a team out of the playoffs or killed their chance at making the playoffs, but to a team set to go to the playoffs??

Just fucking stupid and if your teammates aren't bitch slapping you for doing so. Then they're just as bad as you.

Carrying my son, holding him, and what not.

Evidently there is a vagina somewhere on my body, because this shit makes me want to cry.

This past week, I got movies/pictures together over the past year to give to my sons grandparents. my wifes parents and my parents.

Well, I just got finished watching the picture slideshow, and it just makes me want to shed a tear, because I'll miss this. He'll never be this way again, and just get bigger and just get further away as he gets older.

I love carrying him around, I still do as much as I can. Sometimes he wants to be carried, other times he'll walk. I love when he's walking then says he wants to be carried. I guess it just makes me feel somewhat important.

It's just makes me sad, that's all. I guess this is why people have multiple kids (this is not possible anymore). I don't want that.

Time Warp on Discovery

My wife said the Steelers are going to give me just that after this season. All these pressure games are about getting to me.

Not like it is going to get any easier, Titans next week, then two bye weeks, then the playoffs. There is no reason for me to get all stressed watching these games, but for some reason I do. There use to be a time I would be very upset for a few days after a loss. That has past. But during the game, don't fucking talk to me, I just want to watch and yell RUN THE GOD DAMN NO HUDDLE!

Although I love the defensive games, the shootout type games are fun to watch, but not as fun as a hard-hitting defensive struggle. It's just good fun.

This article was on the front page of MSN.com yesterday with pictures of two the big fatties from Biggest Loser.

Now, here's the problem, they couldn't do it themselves, at all. They had to be picked for a show to go on, leave their lives behind, and workout for 8 hours a day for weeks. I am doubting most overweight people have this chance, so why should I listen to them?

I browsed the article, but I could read it, just a bunch of bullshit and filled with information most people know. Some just choose to ignore it.

If someone chooses that lifestyle of eating a bunch of food and laying on the couch all the time, great. But I wish the media would just stop trying to shove this health crap down my throat.

The "Johnstown Flood" Tax

Why does this tax piss me off? Because this was a temporary tax put on alcohol here in good old Pennsylvania back in 1936 to help aid the recovery of the Johnstown Flood.

This tax was never repealed and is currently at 18%. I am not sure, but I Johnstown is fully recovered right? I mean that was in 1936 and the current year is 2008, right??

Now this extra money goes into a general fund for lawmakers to use for their discretion. According to the Wikipedia article 200 million annually. That's a lot of cash, what in the world are they doing with all that money?? I'd like to know, and don't you think it's about time for that tax to be repealed? I for one do.

This isn't the only oddball tax the Great State of Pennsylvania has on items that are used for their General fund. I guess this is why they can raise their salary every year and make more than me and my wife for a part-time job.

Man, I hate being disconnected for more than one day, but like 6 days is horrible. Takes a while to catch up and get back into that rhythm. It doesn't help that I was in a bad rhythm of not updating anything to begin with. But I'll get back on my feet, then I'll have a week off at Christmas which will mess me up again. Oh well.

Deer Hunting Update

I got nothing. I saw nothing. I just got cold. Saw three deer the second morning driving back into our spot. Other than that nothing. Just lots of food and alcohol. Like way too much food. Could have had more beer though.

Evidently it was 5 years ago in 2003 that McDonald's switched to an all "white" meat nugget. This disappointed me. Because I was apparently one of the few that loved the dark McNuggets. They were the best, juicy and tasty. I don't care what they're made of, they tasted good so fuck off. I remember the day that I got the all-white meat nuggets. It was 5 years ago, and I saw the commercial for the all white meat nuggets and decided when I was going home from deer hunting I would stop and get a 20 piece (yeah, I'm a fatty, fuck off) McNugget, thinking the place in the middle of PA would still have the good nuggets. I was wrong. They were the white meat.

Ugh.

Seriously they were dry and shitty. Nothing like what I was use to. Pissed me off.

Now, you have to realize that I was a McNugget kid. These things were popular when I was growing up in the 80's (oh, just to let you know the 80's sucked, everything in the 80's sucked). Plus the fact that I am picky son of a bitch, I don't like everything they put on a burger at McDonald's and in the 80's they would make burgers in advance with all the fixin's, so if I wanted a burger it had to be made special, which took a long time. You know you ordered a burger, it could have been just made, but chances are that burger was made 2 hours earlier. Shitty for you.

So, McNuggets were the answer and I have been hooked ever since. Hell, just this past Tuesday I got the McNugget meal. The all white McNuggets are a lot better than they were 5 years ago, but I still miss the dark nuggets. They rocked. You just don't know.

That is my CafePress shop, Get Fresh Designs. Instead of creating blog posts, updating my shop, creating new shirts, or networking with other shopkeepers. I am doing this blog almost a daily basis, which shows me that I can update things if I want to, but I just choose not to.

I know this is a weak post, but it is apart of my rant format. So you deal with it. I do have something better, but it will coming tomorrow. You'll just have to wait. I have two guitars, one is out in the living room. Recently my two year old son has been going over to the guitar and strumming it, then he'll "sing" along with it. This sounds like some toddler punk, I believe this new sound will take off and my son will be a star. You know, mom and dad keeping the toddlers down, not letting them live their life, I'm sure there are a lot of them out there that feel the same way.

Cleaning Sucks

I hate cleaning the house, it sucks. Unfortunately it is a necessary evil. But I don't have to like it. Nothing like breathing in chemicals that I'm sure are shortening my life just being around them.

Oh and this is the worst. Our dog has nacho feet. His feet stink, extremely bad. Never have I smelled something so foul, and I grew up in a home that had outside dogs (the dogs lived outside in a box and rarely if ever got a bath). Oscar (my dog) lives inside, gets a bath at least once a month and his feet stink, they smell like nacho corn chips, yeah it's an odd way to describe it but that's how they smell.

Anyway, the stank gets trapped in the vacuum cleaner bag and it stinks up the place for about 15 minutes after the cleaner is run. Not good. Well, at least the vacuum cleaner does its job.

Once again, cleaning sucks.

I almost rammed someone yesterday, because they found it to be more important to be talking on their cell phone, than stop at a stop sign. My salad went flying, all over the floor. Let me tell you that was one lunch, I didn't enjoy thanks to some bitch who can't follow simple traffic laws.

Do you think while driving through a neighborhood with stop signs and lights is the best thing in the world. See the picture below, this is how you are driving with your arm up interfering with the vision on your right side.

This year has pretty much flew by so far, I mean it is almost mid-november. That means Thanksgiving is almost upon us, and after Thanksgiving two days of deer hunting. Oh you thought I was going to say Christmas, well, that is next, but I'm focusing on one week off at a time here.

Now, I enjoy deer hunting to a point. Sitting outside in the freezing cold is really not one of them. But it is a whole lot better than the warm/rainy/foggy day like it was last year. I'll take the cold snowy day over that anytime.

I am not an avid hunter, because lets face it. I suck at it, really bad. I mean the past 3 times I went deer hunting, I missed a buck, big ones too. Why? because I get too shaky, too nervous. The worst part is, I could have just jumped out of the tree stand and put a choke hold on them. It's just heartbreaking really how bad I am. Like fishing, I love fishing, but I can't do it. It stresses me out, and it is something that is suppose to be a stress reliever. Everytime I go fishing, my line gets caught about 20 times. Yeah, that's great. So I don't even fish anymore. Screw that.

Totally off anything I said here in this post, but I thought it was funny. Considering I thought these girls were like 16 or 17 since they were on Disney.

Damn Steelers.

Now there use to be a day that the Steelers would lose, and I would be in an incredible bad mood. I have gotten over, there is nothing I do that changes the outcome of the game. I am sitting at home watching the game, not on the field.

But, every once in a while they'll lose a game and it will just piss me off. Take for example yesterday. The Steelers played the Colts. The Colts are not the team they use to be, injuries/age are catching up with them, but yet they are still a dangerous team. The Steelers had them, this shouldn't have even been a game, but an INT right before halftime and a TD by the Colts ended those hopes and dreams, didn't help the Steelers got stuffed on the goalline, where was the play-action pass? They ran the ball in twice already, the third should have been different.

I keep seeing this advertisement for a new movie called Yes Man. It stars Jim Carrey, and it looks similar to Liar Liar, which also stars Jim Carrey. Actually, it probably is the exact same movie, just tweaked it a little.
